En février 2006, le gouvernement français instaure le CPE : Contrat Première Embauche. Pendant une période d’essai de deux ans, ce nouveau contrat peut être rompu sans motif. Alors que le gouvernement vante la souplesse du CPE, une partie de la jeunesse française se révolte contre la précarisation de ses conditions de vie.
Dans une université de Province, bloquée, transformée en « Fort Alamo », le film suit des étudiants dans leur combat contre le CPE. Ce sont les étudiants de base, « les petites gens de la lutte », loin des lieux du pouvoir. A travers un huis-clos, le film capte la naissance politique d’une génération et montre comment s’opère une filiation, et comment se retrouvent, à travers cette lutte, les étapes d’un rite initiatique et du passage universel à l’âge adulte. |

In February 2006, the French government enacted the CPE : First Employment Contract. During a two-year trial period, this contract can be broken without any motive. Whereas the government praises the flexibility of the contract, some young French people rebels against their precarious living conditions.
The movie shows the students during their battle against the CPE, in a provincial university, picketed and turned into a «Fort Alamo». They are simple students, ordinary protesters who don’t belong to the influent circles. Through a behind-closed-door film, we see the birth of that generation’s political awareness and identification with the political legacy received from their parents. Through this struggle, we can also see the different stages of a ritual and universal passage to adulthood. |
